Claremore Tornado Causes Widespread Damage, Leaves 23 Injured

Tornado Confirmed, Power Lines Down

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado hit Claremore late Saturday night, leaving widespread damage and 23 people injured, 19 of whom were transported to local hospitals.

The tornado caused damage to homes, businesses, and power lines across the city. The National Weather Service upgraded the damage to EF-3 levels after surveying the area east of Claremore and north of Highway 20. Three people received possible life-threatening injuries.

The storm also caused power outages throughout the city. As of Sunday morning, power crews were working to restore power to affected areas. The National Weather Service is continuing to investigate the tornado and its impact on the Claremore community.
